Maurice Roucel at his most quietly brilliant — bitter orange and bergamot open with a citrusy warmth before cinnamon and immortelle pull it into something honeyed, slightly powdery, and utterly addictive. The vanilla-tonka-sandalwood base is rich but never cloying, more artisanal bakery than sugar rush. Softer and more sophisticated than the original Lolita Lempicka, and deeply missed since its discontinuation.
