Serge Lutens — Datura Noir
Decanting from 2003 bottle (exactly like the one on the image).
Deceptively named — this is less noir than it is narcotic. Creamy tuberose wrapped in tropical coconut, heliotrope's almond warmth, and a peachy osmanthus that keeps it hovering between floral and gourmand. The bitter almond and myrrh in the base add just enough darkness to justify the name without tipping into shadow. Lush, enveloping, and skin-close — the coconut will either make or break it for you, as it tends to wax and wane unpredictably depending on skin chemistry and temperature.
Notes:
Top notes: Mandarin Orange, Apricot, Lemon Blossom
Middle notes: Tuberose, Coconut, Osmanthus, Heliotrope
Base notes: Bitter Almond, Myrrh, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Musk
