Serge Lutens — Fumerie Turque
Decanting from 2006 bottle (exactly like the one on the image).
A Turkish smoking den rendered in perfume — honeyed, rum-soaked currants open with a slightly animalic sweetness before blond tobacco and smoked leather take over, softened by beeswax, candied rose, and an unexpected herbal lift from juniper and chamomile. The opening can be polarizing — honey and tobacco together have an urinous edge that requires patience — but those who wait are rewarded with one of the most beautiful tobacco drydowns in niche perfumery. Rich, unhurried, and utterly unique. A decant is the right introduction.
