Serge Lutens — Jeux De Peau
Decanting from 2012 bottle (exactly like the one on the image).
A childhood memory bottled — specifically Serge Lutens' memory of being sent to the bakery as a boy in Lille, the warm yeasty smell rising from the basement window. Freshly baked bread is the opening, unmistakably so, buttery and milky with a licorice edge that keeps it from going purely sweet. Immortelle adds honeyed bitterness in the heart before apricot, osmanthus, and sandalwood soften everything into something warmer and more intimate in the drydown. The genius is that it never tips into candy — the incense and labdanum base keep it grounded and genuinely complex. The definitive bread fragrance, and one of the best gourmands ever made.
