Serge Lutens — Le Perce-Vent
Named for the wind-piercer — a pun on the French word for snowdrop, perce-neige — and it opens exactly like that: a sharp, minty, almost camphorous freshness that feels like cold air cutting across skin. Clary sage adds a slightly bitter herbal quality underneath, and the musk that follows is warmer and more animalic than the opening suggests, grounding the whole thing in something earthy and quiet. The name is also the eye of the storm — the still center — and that duality is the point. A minimal, ethereal release in the spirit of L'Orpheline and Gris Clair. Not for everyone, but quietly compelling for those tuned to this frequency.
